That colour is everywhere. Colour of the land, plants, animals, grass, flowers. My dad used to have a stock camp there. Our mum’s uncle gave us permission to look after this Country here. He told us “You’re not allowed to leave this Country and be slack. You have to look after it properly, be strong!” It’s a special place this one. You’re not allowed to cut the trees or collect pandanus, it’s really alive that one there. That dreaming.
